The old Negro
lurches stoop-shouldered
through the barber shop,
leaving shoe polish fingerprints
on the Coke bottles.

Great mounts of hair
shift noiselessly
into corner piles.

And the negro
periodically
sweeps them into one,
It takes too long to separate
the black from the blond.

We do things better these days....there's an automaton animated by fuzzy logic that makes quick work of this! Heck, lately it's even parsing gray from blonde, and separating the black ones by texture....to celebrate diversity.
