~I pray the wind will hurry me~

I have waited too long, and it's time
to set sail, back to my paradise
where my muse welcomes me
unlike anyone who has come before or since then.

There are no locks on the door
no questions asked
aside from my well being
the silence speaks a language all it's own.

I have missed what seems like forever
those tender words of inspire
and the gentle hold he has on me
he is a skip across the wake, watching me fall.

While keeping my glass half full
he holds me close, cradled in his arms
it is then I truly know
there is no place I'd rather be.

Standing like a rock on the shores of my desire
remaining firm after all this time
he is my anchor when I am drifting away
shielding the sun that threatens to burn me.

Without mixing words or sinking to my knees
there is no forsaking what is real
for all the secrets that I keep belong to him
slipping through the sway of palm trees.

He is a warm hand and gentle shoulder
offering an unconditional acceptance of who I am
knowing the inner workings of my restless heart
inside and out.

We are strung loosely together,
like a flower lei that crowns me
tossing my halo out to sea
for we both know good and well, I am no angel
nor do I pretend to be, I'm human after all.

There is no fooling or make believing
therein lies a priceless gift he gives to me
and through my journeys he lets me go
and brings me back around.

But most importantly
he allows me the freedom to simply be.

~I pray the wind will hurry me~

Bluesy girl...this is your best by far!!
From the opening and closing lines..
~I pray the wind will hurry me~
To everything in-between...
I could not choose a favourite stanza or lines..
this is SO uplifting and full of unconditional love.
Into my library it goes!!!
~Smiles & warm hugs, Nancy~

Bluesy,

your humble pie,  tastes deliciously like
my own.  Very nice write....Truly a treasure
when you have a muse of the caliber you do.

Simply wonderful but I was hurried too soon to the end.  Luckily I can read it again!

It is completely true...you're unique, a standout even among poets, who all try to stand out as unique. I hope this homecoming of yours brings bliss. You deserve that.

Bluesy~

This truly is a remarkable writing...

I just can't tell if it's someone lost to you (from the beginning of the poem) or someone that has come into your life and is supportive and loving (from the ending).

then you won't see the best that I would love to do for you"
