In Your Poetic Mind

{but I speak
the words aloud}

A tapestry
  of color  falling--
here, the whisper
  of autumns air
can be heard

what catches my heart
are the colors
                 in brilliant
and I pale
beside them

and all I have is adoration
to give

Colors at the end of  light
against   some horizontal edge

roses and orchids
sprinkled among  the mix--

stars and midnights     moons
     blue is just a color
an endless sea,

a painting
sitting in the space of heaven

    narrow mist
of the unmistakable
hush

The scent of rose
like the scent of a woman
as mysterious
               as a falling star

all things surrounding
               one with the mist

who will catch
me in descent?

Should I write of this now?
or wait until  first snow fall,
when skies are gray, bursting with
cold      ice

I wonder what waits    hidden,  -
    from what my eyes might see; {maybe}
wicks of candles melting slowly

he promised warmth
in winter

{but if I speak
the words aloud}

will this spell be cast aside?

Is this how the dream will end?

Will the wind ever remember
the names it has blown in the past
with its crutch, its old age, and its
wisdom it whispers no this won't be the last

I hope you know that you two are a couple of my favorite ladies, this is pure poetry in motion...and it's about that motion that made me want to get up and dance on the table.

So fine, you two~

Oh Lauren and Karilea, this is stunningly beautiful.......
Blue is my favorite color, and I could see  misty
blue clouds, it seemed, as I read. Just beautiful.
Hugs to you both

Lauren, you most certainly made my Saturday.  The weaving of this, drawing color and light from one another, was simply wonderful in the task, and a delight to behold.  I always thought it would be enjoyable to write with you - now I know.  I want to do it again, when you have time, please!

NancyLee, if you ever get the opportunity to duet with this woman, you'll experience a true camaraderie!

Thank you Susan, for reading!

IrishDreamer, so glad you enjoyed this with us.

Noah, bless your heart.

There is power in the whisper, Magnus - and Lauren whispers very well.

What a lovely compliment, Bluesy.  Thank you so much.

Thank you, Julie.

Ethel, I would encourage you to duet as well with Lauren when you have time...she is a jewel in those clouds you love.

This is beautiful, you two.  I was thinking about winter and autumn colors yesterday...all day, it seems...which was brought on by a song blowing in my mind. And now I think your poem just whispered a title for mine.  Thanks!

A beautiful inspiration, ladies.  I'm going back for another read.

Proudly is right! You and Sunshine are two of this groups finest, and this lace you've woven is simply exquisite.

And that dream -- however long it may lasts, it is possible to wake and find that it has come true.
