She lives at the end of my back yard
not quite opposite to mine
but near enough

Staring at those walls for years
home to a few
since he died

Now rumor has it
husband left this young woman
I have smiled upon in her garden with child
hanging out my window

We live symmetrical, almost
and she doesn't even know

Curtains closed
from rise to fall of bodies each shift of sky
I imagine she's sitting in the darkness he's left her with

Old jack
are you comforting her?
I dream you are
warm the rooms with your silent
load her a train to change

Parallel lives

Louise and I

strangers the same

Armoured with bitter echoes
that onced chased these rooms
bricks built this box of tricks
the place
we remain

Old Jack
I pray so little
but I wish you near to her
grow her flowers to window
fill ceiling with colourful
the way you used to
for her

Oh my...a wonderful yet hauntingly sad piece Gem.
You made her so real with your vivid imagery..
Extremely well written.

Thankyou my sweeties, unfortunately, it's all so very real. I think about her everyday, and today when deciding to write about her, i realised i had before, some time ago:
/pip/Forum79/HTML/003439.html

The breakdown of her relationship was on course with mine, and i never really knew it, close to home indeed. funny how life is.

Jack was a man i knew as a child, who used to live in the house, i'd never had granparents, so he was the closest I got. He was completely deaf for most of his life, the kindest, softest man, always called me Emma, made thumbprints in sandwiches when he made them, and always had a model railway running in a room of his house. I imagine him to be there, watching over her, i hope.

Gemma,  this is a powerful poem,  speaking
so loudly of two lives,  closer to each
other than each might know...

You painted such a touching picture.

Thanx for the share...

What about China? Have you seen the Great Wall?
All walls are great, if the roof doesn't fall.
