Spectator (Suburbia at 11:15 p.m.)

The moonlight is resplendent in mine eyes,
And the rooftops sparkle like gems with frost,
The grief of the tempest has given rise,
To the wondrous pulsar's which once were lost.
Smoke drifts away, unwelcome and abashed,
While in the shadow's, shades of gray are splashed.

The skies are mezzo-soprano tonight,
Breathlessly I await each winsome note,
Although Mozart's concerto might delight,
The tones to mine ears seem harsh and remote.
'Tis the sweet symphony of starry skies,
That I, this eve, would sensationalize.

Although twilight is the profoundest blue,
The celestial diamonds look down and smile,
I'm touched, by a feeling of déjà vu,
I've seen this hue in lilies of the Nile.
The towering pines reach towards heaven,
And I know it's quarter past eleven.

Diana herself is brightly adorned,
And I blow her a kiss ere turning in,
I know in my heart that I've been forewarned,
That I'll ne'er again hear the violin;
'Tis to twilight's symphony that I'd attend,
A world that in itself is without end.

Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history!
