Listening to every heart

Birched Beauty

slender and white
rising high
against fall's
bluest sky
birch beauty is splendor
in motion
commotion heaves
among fall leaves
and birch grows slowly
naked,
to await winter's gray
and starker days
to come
forever reaching upward
toward it's crown
of stardust glory
or to tickle with
skeletal fingertip
sun's chin, as an entreaty
for yet a little more shine
from which a new
dress of spring
sprung green
shall bloom,
all for the
reclothing of
the birch beauty
in splendor

This is a beautiful poem about
the fall of leaves. Michele is
going to love it, too.
Hugs to you both

Beautiful trip through those seasons.
I find the birch to be such an elegant hardwood although at one time was considered a pest tree similar to the general opinion held of poplar and ash.
However, I love them all and know they're all here for a reason.

Lovely elegant writing!

Having "birched" a beauty or two myself, I was stunned to see this title in "Open"!

A lovely write though, Karilea
