Words leave me
today is the last day
and the beginning

a time of what I make it

Feeling sand between my toes
and sunlight on my face
I wonder of how many more freckles
will take their place

This solitude I choose
has ran its course
readying me for a new path
hope takes the place of remorse

Seems the end became the beginning
of something more subtle and strong
like the spores on back
of the greenest frond

I beget a new start

The roar of oceans wave
sends the message
of a time of passage
eroding the old
leaving room to build
throwing out the mold

It's a new day
and I carry sand and ocean spray
with me
as I make my way

feeling each new freckle
upon a wiser face

I liked it. It reminds me of something. I'm not sure what it reminds me of, but I know it reminds me of something. *lol*

Feeling each freckle upon a wiser face.   Nice way of looking at things.   Oh, let me count the freckles.  1001, 1002, 1002 1/2

this is wonderful. the imagery is really nice, but the message, the healing, the looking ahead, "throwing out the mold," the hopefulness, that's what's awesome.  thank you

Well, I have been remiss in responding to my responses (looking for a new ride and all), but there is no way I am responding to everyone individually as I like to do...lol

Just know this...I really didn't think this piece was all that great...but all of you are!

Thank you!!

to all!

You still freckle, too?  So do I when I can get out and play - but usually I'm within four walls of some such structure or another - and the freckles fade...

I think I'll go out and capture a few today!

Meet you at the sandbox!

ooh fun, can I join you at the sandbox too?
I burn though, no tans and a few freckles.. mainly just burn.
But I could sure use the fresh air, so refreshing isn't it?

Karilea~ Oh yes, I have freckles all over my face!  And some on my arms..I used to hate them..but now they just feel like I wouldn't be me if they weren't there!!

The sandbox sounds like fun!! Can I take a raincheck, you two?  I am sick with that yucky cold/virus thingy that has been going around...

Playing in your sandbox, with sickly you...makes no sense.  Lucky for you, I don't place alot of importance on good sense.
Now stop this bantering, it's stressing my poor, tired brain.
