We Loved A Lifetime

Across open expanse let my stare race,
Let it vault toward where the earth meets sky,
For I'd have naught intrude visual space,
Ere I release thee having said goodbye.
Let mine eyes dam the tears my heart would loose,
For this day regret's not my Jezebel,
Woe-is-me too oft has been my excuse,
And I'd have peace of mind for but a spell.
Instead I'll caress all my yesterdays,
I'll hold you within the comfort of love,
Yea 'tis time I released the sad cliches,
Accepting that which I've been bereft of.
"'Tis better to have loved," someone once said,
We loved a lifetime before our hearts bled.

Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history!

Dang! Kevin, this is really a wonderful creative write!
It's a shame some of the world's best love writes are inspired by the pain it brings.

A keeper for the library.

Your song of lost love is strong and issues forth from a heart that is on the mend...

Beautiful writing!

Warm hugs,

lovely words EV2

and thank you for always responding to my words, if I have not been able to find the time before this to say so.
