Lord,
It’s me again

Tugging your chain to ask a few
And maybe, though I don’t expect an answer,
At least get the questions straight in my own mind.
So, grab a stool and have a listen if you are of the mood.

Tell me,
Why is it that we go through life searching
For something to fill what always seems a void in us
When in your own words we are made in your image
And by default should be whole?

Then, it seems
we find a series of answers to the what’s missing
And chase like some beagle running a rabbit
in circles trying to get our mouth around
how to express them, knowing we can’t swallow them whole
should we.

I’ve sat in the Sunday morning pew and listened
To the words of Mark and John
Heard the answer was you Lord
And tried to believe it was
Only to fall short of faith and let slip
Any hope I might find
Until it too rattled like the loose change
In the bottom of the collection basket
Your servants pass around.

I guess I don’t get it God

I don’t understand the empty any more

Well,
Thanks for the chat
And at least as I said
The questions now are clear
And I didn’t expect any answers from you
Oh, by the way..

Thanks for the beer
Next time I’m buying

Who says his image is whole?  If it were, he wouldn't have created us at all...

there are so many loopholes god/religion, whatever you call it manages to string us through whilst were trying to live up to what he says life should be, how it should be conducted. I'm not religious, and yet I do believe in something but, I conduct the same conversations with myself, i skip inviting god.

personally, i'm in a tangle.

Ron, I don't understand either.

Good to read you m friend. he probably wasnt listening, but we were.

Yer most welcome, and I'll hold ya to that.

This is something that you know I understand.
Really not that far removed from my own BS  LOL

(Clever, the way you hung that "Tantric Poetry" thing back on ME, by the way. Sheesh)

it is not easy, the questions or the answers....sigh...even with all the faith that people read into my words, I am bothered by that 'empty' thing.....would give you some of my faith if it would help, but it seems it is not the amount of faith, but the acceptance that faith is what it takes...nods her head and sighs...wish I had the words you need my friend...but I don't guess I do...hugs

The title alone was magnificent...

The searching is endless and not, I have found...
We seek to heal ourselves, and at some point realize we were never broken...only human.

Great conversation. TD

Um huh; ya got me hook, line, and sinker!  OK, I couldn't help but laugh.  As I'm relatively new here, I didn't know your style.   A heart felt response and a chuckle sent your way from Sadelite.

Good question, very good question, Captain.

Something must have happened along the way,
changed us, or we changed the world too much,
and now we seek what we can't have or can no longer be.

Been accused of this myself.

Peace,

Corinne
