Once Upon A Twenty...or less

Felt it before it rang,
reaching across the ball of fur warming me
sitting up trying to find my way.

Dream feedback I call it,
morning whispers slipping away
but trapping me into a new day.

Déjà Vu one time too many,
as I try to hold onto the thoughts
knowing they'll disappear into the chill.

I walk the headstones searching,
never finding, for death did part us
and I buried more than memories.

You, my one and only,
all I needed, no substuitute would do
these strings, so attached to you, unbeknownst.

Fragments surround me, chips of hope,
morsel-feeding me daily, maybe through him,
carving my resolve "to never be".

And you, You are watching over,
seeing me still, as that little girl,
walking along the beach holding my hand.

M

Well I lost my father too soon...and  my sister in her shortened future and I guess after visiting with a funeral director for my Mother..I was feeling the memories of a walk on the beach with my dad as a child...that secure feeling one has that you wish could last forever.

Thank you Marge and Ethel.
Sometimes you just long for an understanding friend to lean on.

I know what it is like to long for Daddy strength..
