In Your Poetic Mind

{that I may wake again,
with gentle eyes}

As
threads dangle
between lip and tongue
  patterns laced

this night shall last--

lift    thy eyes to twilight &
faithful evening stars
as I touch
  bending silver

name your passions
  with     petals of orchids,

take me  into
dreams, then draw me back with

gentle songs and quiet hues
of morning dew

You,     whom I have watched  breathe
at nights    through  water of   sleep
        in a    blue city
where midnights   fall into history

I can touch right?

rise to the edge of water
let it flow over my palms--
drawing me deeper    in
gold and green  ripples

if you could feel me

the tense quiet
           surrounding you, in shadows
where I have been --
where I am now

The wood has settled,
the press of leaves begins  the ritual-
etched in autumn skies--

I was reminded how

You spoke   of beauty --
journeys  of rain,         storms  of pure light
in their falling    among   my
strength of all roots

baptize me

now

I surrender too,
horizons with no end,
time between river and sea

meeting the bend   of color

watching  light whisper
to broken glass

     between water and stone

begins again the dream

only you can enter

It never fails.. that when I open one of your poems and begin to read, that I am taken back at least half a step, at the beauty and grace with which you present the language and the images...
this one... certainly no exception, and on the second and third read, I am still in awe of your talent...

Reading your poetry is like sleeping on satin sheets...like sunshine on skin, like a summer's breeze coming in off the ocean...
like afterglow at midnight in moonlight.

every time I talk to you its over too soon
every day feels incomplete till you walk into the room
just say the words, I'll jump that moon.
