I want to meet a poet
one with talents exceeding my own
to admire words so delicatly sewn
could that be you?

I want to meet a poet
one with talents equaling my own
to grow together in this art
sharing works with open heart
could that be you?

I want to meet a poet
one with talents bleak
but always eager to critique
do you meet my expectations to be met
I want to meet a poet
any poet will do

Oh, my dear poetic Joe,
You're the poet I'd like to know.
With words so witty
and full of charm
You have the power to disarm.
Your poems bring happy
and then bring sad.
Then make me angry,
Then make me glad.
