where the wild flowers grow

Chin up, look upon the runes.
The stones have become weightless as you build.
A palace made of multi-colored feathers,
could it fly?

I cannot drink this water, tainted
in hue of orange.. cupped in your dirty hands.
I don't trust your motive.

We're all liars, we just lie about it.
All saints, and sinners rolled up in one,
and it takes a real mean stepping stone, to
realize our own contradictions..
We'll still, in the end, be boiled by the sun.

The unforgiving sun, the painful heat of day,
the sleepless weather.
Broken glass beneath bare feet,
and still the strength to walk on..for this is
freedom,
is it not?

This wind tells tales of the misfortune,
and how selfish I was to think I fell
in that catagory.
This breeze focuses on the flaws
in my perfection.. and I let it do so,
for this is my deserving anguish..

This is my swaying tree, endlessly
becoming less fruitful..
You step on what once were my leaves.
Crushing what belonged to me.

And
this is a hopeless explanation as to why
things don't add up or even
in negatives and in positives,
how I cannot be trusted with such things.

With words and branches that try to reach
the sky.
I am undeserving, yet I still
try..
Is it a fault to be worthy?

In the depths of sleep I pry open my eyes.
I find that faith is a floating ship at sea,
one that anchors itself for moments only
to flutter on by..
So I wave, as it passes.. I say goodbye..
Holding a hand that belongs to me..

My own.

Listening to every heart

Oh good grief.  Every time I went
to pick a favorite line it was
swallowed up by another favorite line.

Faith?

Yes, I have faith
that every time I read you,
I am even more impressed
than the last time.

you do well..when you write of such things with passion and intellect... and while this flows very nicely and it speaks volumes..it does seem to get perhaps a bit endowed with the quality of listening to itself...

as always... I'm impressed... you have talent... sometimes subtle and refined, sometimes raw and elemental.. but always with a question and a heart.

I'm not livin' what was promised
I am close but can't enjoy
Oh, I'm not dyin'
Oh, I'm so
tortured, 'cause I see all
tortured, in all I cannot do
tortured, all I should have done
tortured, while I occupied a man

I have to bump this so the others don't miss it.

I needed this

What about China? Have you seen the Great Wall?
All walls are great, if the roof doesn't fall.
