Your angelic cries
ring my soul
like psalms

Stirring me to places
not visited before

A temple in the clouds
where the notion of "us"
is exhorted

Where the sermon of the day
is forever
love

I hear this
in your sweet fulfilling

I hear this
In your night songs

And find new life
in your Petite Mortes,

The “little deaths”
within our desire

Endings and beginnings
together

Meshing
even as we do

Quieted only
with our

Amen

Ya know Ed, your writing is a big part of the reason I wish I had more time to spend here.

Liquid grace
slips
from tip of finger
to lip

sssshhhhhh . . .

listen within
the night breeze
calling me
to that place deep
within you dig
a miner for my heart
lamplight in the dark
guiding my hand
which is your own
rock upon stone
turned and tumbled

cavern release me!
help him to see

I am here lying
whispering my plea . . .

find me . . .

The wind
travels quick this eve
wrapping your thoughts
in velvet canopy
whistling throughout
this dank crevice
Craning neck to see

I heard . . .

something

frantic gloved hand
no longer
skin scraping edge
and bit of slate
blackened fingers
rummage madly
knowing that here
right here
there is something
in front of you
beneath it all
I
can see your eyes
shine inside this place
my sanctuary
reflecting green
raging sea
from single ray of light
burning into my hollow home
one more
touch
turn of old
a solemn prayer
foretold
another hymn
nightsong within

growl of the wind

growing
deeper
as
our
hands
come
closer
reaching
just
inches
from

Those lines are great. This poem is so deep, powerful, and beautiful. Excellent.

Does this mean I don't have to go to church this morning? It's about time you and Susie Q get together.
