Midnight falls
in safe decline

coughing the dust from my lungs,
never speaking
for fear of
waking the dead.

are the doors locked?
are the windows boarded?
there is nothing to fear but millions of empty fields
and all of those imaginary shadows…

50% of us are lifeless,
but still awake,
I am still awake,
I grow a new skin,
one to cover fractured bones
and abrasions of my latest mistake.

I will paint it white as snow,
to stop the rusting of my frame,
my idle presence.
Are we falling?
will I repeat this ceaseless phrase?

I am falling
falling
falling
falling
I have hit the ground again.

Here, I am just a number,
6+7+NO.
blue+yellow=Green,
I divide myself
until I’m gone,
fading out with the last lights flashing (red and blue and red and blue):
a standstill oblivion.

Liz... such standstills seem common in my world.. minus the fear of empty fields...

mine is of the waking trees and all the stones that lie in wait....

your talent is showing my dear... might want to pull it up just a bit so everyone doesn't see it has lace... that one can see through

Elizabeth, it's the small insights like those two lines, which mark the growth of a poet.  I am priveleged to be able to watch you unravel.

Those two lines alone filled me with inspiration.  As they contribute to your poem as a whole, well, I have to say that introspection is doing you a world of good.  Don't ever stop looking inside of yourself, there's a universe in your imagination.

Take care.

Also love the new pic.  I hated the previous one, it looked like you were in a breath-holding competition or something.

The new one better embodies you and your work.  Nice choice.  What's that you're standing in front of?  Or did you edit that into the photo?  I'm curious.

Oh, are you like that too?  Carly (Child of the Stars) has one eye that's always half-closed.  She named him "Slim."  Maybe it's characteristic of a poet.  I don't know.  But mine were always both as open as each other.  Although one doesn't see quite as well as the other.  Shrug...

and you... just continue to grow not only as a poet.. but I think as a person.. so I enjoy it.. and seeing it happen..

I do not mean to make you over think or uncomfortable.. if I do.. my apologies.
