The Wrong Words

the sun was doing
what suns do and
we were walking,
talking, finding
things in clouds
and mostly loving,
when a small quick
frown crossed you and
I was pulling back my
word string, kites
falling all around us
as the clouds
went gray

Repost -- for someone I hope is still my friend.

Sounds like the sun
needs to come out again,
and the winds need to
lift that kite and string
of words to cross
the sky...

well done, Sir...

True friendship never dies.It may go running in the other direction, but it always returns. Let your words wash over his person and friendship will renew once again.

I know I lack objectivity... for your friendship is by far one of the greatest gifts in my life *S* But I would think anyone lucky enough to know your friendship would treasure it forever and never think of walking away from it... no matter what. *S*

I like this repost very much, my friend... we all have words we wish were unsaid... I love the image of them on strings that could be pulled back before color disappears. *S*

Awww..I have just read words I can so relate to. I share this same sentiment, but I don't think I will ever be that lucky. I hope for you a good outcome with your friend!!!! I know just how you are feeling. Keep the faith!

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Ed, if this is the friend you think he or she is, this person would definitely forgive, as true friends always thumb the string firm and when the kite begins to fall, tries to launch it again! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, this is wonderfully heartfelt, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ed, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

This is so full of thought... reminds me of Joyce's style.  Your thoughts are so fluid and the images re-create the setting perfectly.

Quaint and beautiful, Ed.  An excellent piece of poetry.

Ed, sometimes we do say things that we never intended to hurt. But, the person we are talking to can't help some things coming back to their minds from a hurtful past. I can relate to this from both sides. If the relationship  (of whatever kind) is strong enough, anything can be worked out if both parties want to work it out.
Hugs to you and your friend
Ethel
