Was it love or lusty romance
that made you dance that dance?
the one that kept you grounded
inside a hopeless lover's trance?

while your 'partner' did the two step
never intending to dosey-doh,
did he catch you in a love trap
but now says he wants no more?

were you a twistin and a shoutin,
while now you're just a poutin?
and the venom is a spoutin
all over a blue dance floor?

was it love or lusty romance
that made you dance that dance?
the one that kept you grounded
inside a hopeless lover's trance?

Don't blame the poor musician
or the lyrics on his page,
just chock it up to experience
before your anger turns to rage,

for the song of LOVE is too precious
to be buried in the dirt,
and it doesn't pay to wallow
even when your heart's been hurt.

Was it love or lusty romance
that made you dance that dance?
the one that kept you grounded
inside a hopeless lover's trance?

Thanks Lee J. Somehow I think it should have a country-blues tune behind it.

I agree it does have a country-blues tune behind it. (funny, I am not keen on country music).

Sometimes we get so eager for love and acceptance we misread the signs...

Very well done Kacy!!

This is a good country song, I can see me dancing to it. Come to think of it, I think I have danced to this one-and he two-stepped right out the door.

LOL, I have this feeling there are many of us who have danced to this tune.
Thanks for the reply!

Living can be hell when one's just a bug on the windshield of love...
Yee Haw!!!

Live like it's your last day...
Dance like nobody's watching...
Love like you've never been hurt...

Kacy?

you are brilliant . . .

Don't blame the poor musician
or the lyrics on his page,

for the song of LOVE is too precious
to be buried in the dirt,
and it doesn't pay to wallow

very much so and uhhh . . .
put this to music . . .
I think you got something here

Edder, now that's a very generous reply!

Ray, LOL, that's definitely not the way I'd want to end an affair!

Sue, wanna go on tour?

James, I gathered as much, from some of your writes. LOL, but what usually happens is lust subsides before love kicks in.

Thanks, sweet suthern songbird!
