Some of my poetry can be a little depressing, so I thought I'd pre-apologise before I post anything else.

Sorry to Offend You

Sorry if I offend you in any way
I haven't been sleeping these nights
And my mind's adrift with thoughts
That don't seem to come out right
I try to smile to satisfy
Those closest to me
Just to  hide all the pain
I hold deep inside of me
I'm not a child
Though I Know that child
Is with me more than I would like
Haunting my days and nights
Unaware of my grown up needs
And that love is not the sweet
Candy of my pleasant dreams
But she is the soul of me
Trying to grow each day
Searching for the place
Her spirit can dance freely
She is the key to my emotions
And leaves the door open
To the things I try not to let you see
But she means well, and she's all of me
I'm sorry if she offends you in any way

Welcome to Passions in Poetry, Kaz. I enjoyed reading your first post. We can't always write happy thoughts. Writing what's in our hearts is the important thing. Thanks for doing that.
And please check your e-mail for a special greeting from all of us here at Passions.
