beyond the doors of perception

Back on the Path
from which I’ve diverged…
what seems like countless times
Ripping my heart, warping my mind
wrapping my soul in…
is it the necessary pain of darkness?
to cause me to seek the Light

Disconnecting from Grace, in the face…
of overwhelming oddities of chemical solace
Fixing that damned… never fixes the dam
In an opiated haze of ethanol blurred daze…
days on end
Dispirited by spirits from seeking the Spirit
My soul cries, again and again…
"Not I"

The Light is there
the Path unfolds…
for the asking
I just have to See, through eyes…
Which have been cleansed and cleared…
by desire, that deep yearning called Faith
Words fail, full of feeble foolish promises…
lies to myself

I need to listen to John Donne
"To thine own self…" Knowing I’m never done
Cuz’ in the end…
It doesn’t really matter to anyone else
Faith is caring for ones’ own Self
Cuz’ the Creator doesn’t need me…
to be any way…
other than how I choose

I read Tukaram today
He so playfully loves God
So why do I choose …
self-fulfilling, self-defeating…
flagellation and self-beating
of my heart, soul, and mind?
When I am knowing the Creator is kind…
and Graceful

I think that all that God wants is…
to give me love by the face-full
and for me to be faithful…
to my heart, and stay…

Loved this write, and I'll be putting it into my library, so that the next time I decide to self-flagellate, I have a reminder I am not totally alone.
