Five Minutes

Meaning was lost
behind veiled eyes,
pinched lips . . .
body language said everything,
everything was understood.
You were mad at me,
I didn’t care,
I didn’t feel enough about your reasons
to change,
you were in that corner to stay,
five minutes - no less,
five whole minutes confining
that explosive two-year old energy
to one spot,
to looking at one corner
where two walls meet,
five minutes of tears and whimpers,
of holding my wrenching heart
between hands that longed to lift and hug –
five minutes . . . the longest of my life.

Ah James...I know how you feel..
sometimes it's much harder on us parents and grandparents
to reprimand the little ones, than it is on them.
Just breaks your heart doesn't it?
Much enjoyed the write....good to read you tonight.

Boy, have I been in that place a few times...in the tender of love sometimes the walls are hard.

(big hugggssssssss) Oh James, this is beautiful, sweet friend, though I am not a parent, I have seen this time and time again among others and I understand the trauma, but all at once you love them too much also and after time passes by the noise can almost be soothing! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet James, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Jwesley, it is soooo very good to read you again!  Yes, I don't believe sometimes they realize how hard it is on us to have to be the one on the giving end instead of receiving end of that scenario.  Well done m'fried....very well done.  Hugs..
