While leaning against
the old oak tree,
this early autumn day,
a single leaf
came twirling down,
and softly came to lay

by my feet
on earthy loam,
with acorns scattered 'round,
I slowly slid
down side of tree,
and sat down on the ground.

My eyes looked up
in to the blue,
of skies so clear and bright.
With air so fresh,
and trees ablaze,
my world seemed so right.

here's a little ditty from about 25 years ago.

Here I sat gently swaying
Here I sat Peacefully playing
when I nodded off to sleep,
and let out just a little peep.

I said,"Blow wind blow,

So the wind did blow,
It blew and blew and blew with glee
Until it blew me right out of my tree.

Then I woke up
And the wind settled down,
