The House on Cleveland Street or (Good Fences Make Good Neighbors)

There are eagles riding beagles,
And two kittens in black mittens,
But the lama's in pajamas,
Will surely take you by surprise.
A polar bear wears underwear,
And there's gold fish in the soap dish,
The infant skunks in clapboard trunks
Are often what delight the eyes!
In that mad house lives a field mouse,
And the puppies play with guppies,
But it's the horse on the golf course,
Which makes a person stop and stare.
Yet what's silly 'bout a filly,
Who wants to play nine holes today?
When the chicken is a pickin',
On a guitar...oh yes I swear.
There's no fooling it's grueling,
Finding red ants in your new pants,
Or hissing snakes on your yard rakes,
But what's a fellow gonna do?
There's a baboon in the saloon,
And a fruit bat on the door mat,
At the table sits a sable,
Playing cards with a kangaroo.
There's a parrot and a ferret,
And a cheetah named Anita,
And a rabbit does inhabit,
That house at the end of our street.
It's so noisy here in Boise,
That a bellow seems quite mellow,
But the reindeer out on the pier,
Must think the hubbub pretty neat.
The mountain goats are sailing boats,
And the turtles oft plant myrtles,
But the hippos washing the clothes,
Will make you give your head a shake.
I’m not lying it is trying,
When chubby pigs are raking twigs,
But the white goose in the grape juice,
Is just too much for me to take.
Now I worry that the furry,
And the feathered are not tethered,
And the slimy and the grimy,
Might decide that it’s time to move.
I need a fence for self defense,
Before I’ve guests at this address,
That speaks no word I’ve ever heard,
For my sanity I’d improve!

Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history!

LOL, you say you're the local zoo keeper?
It almost sounds like my former abode.
