A Little Shifting

There’s an earthtide too,
a little shifting, that’s all,
in, out just like the more
lascivious undulations of the sea
and for the same gravid reason:
Even the stones of Earth
cannot deny the moon.

My own house rises, falls,
maybe inches in a day
and I never know it.

Ed...I think you know it, for haven't you just told us so?  Lovely to think of a living breathing earth.

Well yeah, but sometimes you only find out the really important stuff after it's been going on for a long time...and then you feel it even more, to make up for not feeling it all that time.

One thing for sure, there's is no denying your poetic offerings.

I think I'll step outside and take a look at the moon,
and have a meaninful conversation with myself.

You inspire so much, dear Ed~

The pull of the moon is always more powerful than we realize.
But I sense far more in this write than simple gravity.

Major shifts can have catastrophic results... a ripping apart of our very being. *S* But I like thinking that even the earth needs to make minor adjustments... remembering that will surely keep my thinking from being rigid. *S*

I particularly love these lines...

Even the stones of Earth
cannot deny the moon.

Excellent work, my friend! *S*
