This was written In Memory Of Jody Mercer. She died Oct. 5, 2003. She was a very sick girl who never did get to walk, talk, or play. Her mother kept saying she wished Jody could have danced. So, I wrote this for Jody's Mother.

How I Danced

I heard you say you wished I could've danced
Just let me tell you that I got my chance
You may have never seen my feet touch the floor
But, Mommy, don't you cry, I always soared...

Oh, I saw your face and held onto you inside
Look back at me now and notice my eyes
For, my visions were blessed so I did get my chance
Your beauty moved me, Mommy, that's how I danced...

I lived each day at heart for the days I was given
Smiled inside, feeling us, in this world we were living
Those memories shined so I did get my chance
Mommy, those moments carried me, that's how I danced...

Understand, I remember the feeling of your hands each time
So, here is a kiss for never letting go of mine
For, all that you were I really got my chance
Your love swept me away, Mommy, that's how I danced...

Never hang your head for I was granted a lift
For, God gave me you, my most precious gift
I had grace by my side my entire life through
Because, Mommy, I got to dance it all with you...

This is so sad. But I enjoyed the read. Beautifully written.

To look through the eyes of a child
is one thing...
to look into their heart,
something else altogether...

You did well here, m'dear...
very, very well...

(tears fall down my cheeks) Oh Saunni, this is so terribly heartbreaking, sweet friend, my heart cries out to Jody's family, as I can not begin to imagine how heartaching it is to see a child handicapped this way! (wipes tears) Tell Jody's family I send many angel hugs and prayers their ways and that Jody will always love them and truly, up above, Jody can finally dance, and when the time is right they'll dance with her on Cloud Nine! (wipes tears) God Bless You and your angelic heart, sweet Saunni, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

You really need to post a warning to get a Kleenex with this one! This was such a beautiful and yet sad write. Touched me deep within!
take care.

now you know that men aren't supposed to cry, right? well then darnit, next time post a warning.  I am much more emotive in the a.m., before I build my defenses for the day.  this was/is beautiful.  You are to be commended for the care and consideration you have shown to your friend.  thank you for sharing this.

Oh, Saunni, this is such a beautiful gift you have offered to a mother in weep.
You have a special gift, and we are all so lucky that you share it.
You've allowed that child to dance forever in clear blue skies.

Oh my, as the father of a three year old girl I am so thankful that she was born with good health, and I feel so much pain for those whose children are not.  They are so strong.  I myself... Well, perish the thought, I believe I would go simply mad were I in your friends shoes.  Give her our sympathy.  No one should have to see their own children pass.  You've brought a tear from the eye of one who seldom cries.  Wonderful write.

I'll bet her mother is most grateful to you for this. The compassion and tender truth in this is amazing... God bless you.
I love this...
