T'was understood the missing link
To take away the galling tax
Was found behind the kitchen sink
Where whimsy met with ceiling wax

T'was there the jawbone of an ass
Was waved about with great aplomb
To please the mighty silent mass
And show that history was a bomb

Pernickety has made the grade
The asses jawbone was refined
And dug up with a silver spade
By this the ancients were defined

The galling rhyme has held through time
So none escaped its craven cast
For in the moat the time of bloat
Has rediscovered hidden past

The missing link tis found, tis found
Screamed archaeologists en masse
And wherever truth is bound
There'll be a jawbone of an ass

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown
