How Silent

There is more to me than meets the I,
"off the wall" and "lost and found"
and millions of miles of road thought,
endless dreams to fall before you,
laid at your feet on run-on pages of white from blue.

Call me any day and you will see me hiding those thorns
that are skin-wedged failing to be removed
so as to remind me, I am not immune to pain,
the reality of falsehoods, nor the weariness of soul.

It's in my eyes some say,
or maybe in my smile, whose lips part
to show the fading dimples, born to capture
and hold the looks of others.
Eyes that have shed too many tears of knowing
and lips that have kissed too few...too few.

I am selling my soul to the highest bidder,
the fog having coated my morning, its dampness
matching my spirit and the "because of you"
written by fingers, etching the glass of Alice's dreams,
leaving her kiss for all to see:
two lips parted, whispers escaping
turning page upon page of white on blue.

M for Alice

Bravo! A little sad at the ending there...but overall a very good read indeed. Thanks for posting this one nakdthoughts. Enjoying your work immensely this morning.
