T’was the twilight of her life and the twilight of the day
She had nowhere to be going to and no place to stay,
She had wandered all the streets yet could not find herself a home
Her mind whispered memories voices heard by her alone,
Lapping waves against the storm wall was a beckoning sound
Calling her near to the water’s edge that peace might be found,
Paper wads and coffee cups float abandoned in the bay
She adds tears to the brackish water that washes away
She knows the feeling of abandonment and losing it all
Being once a loved lady that has succumbed to a fall
The voices tell her of the times that have now gone long by
Though recalling those glad things makes her continue to cry
T’was the twilight of the day and the twilight of her life
Now to become a childless homeless hopeless widowed wife.

very sad, there are those whom give up after loosing a lifetime companion, and I cannot imagine how difficult it must be for them.  I believe that is why a certain independance must flow over every relationship...so that we are self-providing in the even we loose our lifetime companions.  Many miss their loved ones so much, it is not long until they
desire to go with them, and they do.  Maybe, I'm wrong, maybe that is the kind of love which is the ultimate purpose for being?

This was a very sad read...and if you know this woman, I'll be saying many prayers for her that happiness will once again touch her life and endow her to continue her journey.

Good to see you, it's been a while...good morning my friend, sending you warm hearted smiles.

Thank you, LeeJ,
Pleased you like this, it is not a particularly real person,
But sort of a composite of several.

Thank you, Earth Angel,
You are very kind in your praise

I never try to go too near the waters edge for fear it may call to me...

and anyway remember, I can't swim which I guess is the point...

I like this one very much, gloom and all.
