Downpour

In the downpour of the rain
Salient history in its awe
Beats the ancient kiss arcane
Wrapping on my windows door

Shattering my shallow sleep
Placing phantoms in my mind
Bringing me to thoughtful reap
Charging down the road of blind.

It drums a pulse of quicken fear
Rattles me and shakes my bones
A sound that brings the night to near
Full of midnight undertones

Washing down the grime of day
Hides the mystic moon from view
Streaks the windows with its gray
Queers me in a mental rue

Hypnotized I watch the flow
Wishing that it turned to snow.

==============================

*smiling at you*
loving the way you play with words...
your vocab is too cool for school.
(salient is one of my fave poetic words)

I'm not wishing for snow...
I'd rather your rhymes rain down on me

*ww*

"Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold."
"So dawn goes down to day ...
Nothing gold can stay."

Goooood mooooorning, my Dear Mr. Tumbleweed!

~ A brilliant write. So many levels of meaning and interpretation.

Think snow, and it shall be so. The moon will shine brightly at night and pristine moments shall not be washed away. Enjoy the peace and purity of crystal clear freshness and light. Snooooow forevermore.

Angel hugs and kisses,
EA

Don't know what's prettier...
a lovely rain, or a beautiful snow...

Thank you Sy...you've opened the doors
to the on-coming winter with style,
and grace...
