Us If all the words were dying, and we had to pick just one A word that paints a thousand pictures only half begun If every story always happened once upon a time If life was lived like poetry, with meaning and with rhyme If every thing that ever lived, all started from one seed If all the love there ever was, all started from one need If every single wave began by dropping one small stone If life was just beginning and we both were all alone If every drop that ever fell, all started from one tear If all the wind that ever blew, could blow away the fear If every wild hurricane, all suddenly ensued It still would not be able to, keep all my love from you If all the water in the sea began to flood the hills If all the lightning in the sky came down to test my will If all the ice and snow began to fall upon the earth If all the deserts in my path were there to gauge my worth If all the rivers in the world, washed every bridge away If every mountain tried to get my love for you to stay If all the elegance was in the beauty you behold If all the grace that fell to earth was deep inside your soul If all the feelings we both shared could make the oceans part If you and I were meant to be together from the start If something were to take away the only love I knew I’d paint a million rainbows that would bring me there to you If every sound there ever was, beat gently from within If all the light had blown away and time could not begin If all the words were dying, and we had to pick just one A word that paints a thousand pictures only half begun We would keep the only word our hearts have ever known “Us” would be that special word, that we would call our own [This message has been edited by Richy (10-08-2003 05:22 AM).] |

Very nice. Your first line cought me and I was there for the whole ride. It was flowing along so smoothly that I was disappointed when the last line was finished. A beautiful poem, and well written. "The greatest gift a father can give to his daughter is to love her mother." |
