beyond the doors of perception

She was a master rhetorician, and explained to me that a rhetorician was a good man speaking well.  Mere rhetoric is oxymoronic

Oh, that I could write
flowery words so endearing
Words which reach down into your soul
far beyond the simple hearing

Words to you of love
about me so inspiring
They reach down into your soul
to cause the flames of passion's firing

My efforts so far written
seem so terribly in vain
It seems that my words of love
you either ignore or disdain

Yet I cannot let you go
and empty of you am I
These desultory times alone
I simply sit and sigh

I do not question in my heart
I know that life is in God's Hands
And the reasons for your hesitance
I know and truly understand

But if you would this one last time
open your heart and mind
And please know my soul awaits
the return of my love in kind

Peace, Joe
in the big MT
seeking the serendipitous magical mysteries of life's ubiquitous twisteries
