Trigger
pawing
hoof to dust
a one trick pony made to yoke
there are just too many things
drawn in prophecy
and thrust
of the edge
to tarry still--
there is just too much of me
straining on the leash...

I took a stroll on broken road
sidewalks still need care---
once upon omniscient
twice with nothing
waiting there.
A foot is just another step
and sometimes steps are but a snare--
I used to know the ways of bloom--
I used to squeeze a bulb to bare
a flower premature.

I walked islands in the street
calling corners
widdershins--
I took the kneepads off
belief
that I had come home again
thinking
that for suffering
surely surely
I was saved.

Sighs denying hand in clasp
biting
like the little tramp
purse tails dangle fringe in tease
let me please
oh let me please
concentate on this.
Shock of elbow
and the knees
knowledge
gaveled
home to me
"Yes he's done this thing before"

I watch the halo of streetlamp
moths and those annoying gnats
thinking thinking
sweet nothing
but needing to fly anyhow.

silence
just
before a note
it is the thing that causes pain--
it is the beckoning in sky
it is the heavy smell of rain
that no longer is avoid...

The traces of the wings of bird--
pecking at the leaves of tree
chattering
like family
hidden by the cross-hair sheathed
shimmy shaking unaware.

I have bits of fuschia
on my nails where I forgot
that this might
be all I've got
in a suitcase marked "Sunbeam."

A pinkness clasping memory...

this is stark reality
of a touch
industrial
just a bit of camp against
the dust in bite of whistle wheel.

And a dandelion grows
in bend--
she's waiting...for the breeze.

Karen...so much going on in this...

I've read it several times now, and each time
I've seen something that I hadn't seen the time
before...and the picture becomes more clear...
and the emotion...that much stronger...

This, in particular, really grabbed me...

I took the kneepads off belief.....Now there's a classic line if I ever read one.

You're too deep for an old dummy like me Celeste but I sure love the images you conjure up!

Honestly K?  I rarely know what to respond to your writing.  But it so often finds something in me that I'd misplaced.  I'd love to visit the inside of your head sometime.  (Wouldn't wanna take up residence, just a cup of coffee or two).  Anyone told ya lately that you rock K babes?!?!

Ahh, gentle one, then time again to smell the fragrance of the new flower, for from the ground it reaches out to the sun and smiles...very gentle smile

shaking my head and grinning at the "K Babes"--been called MANY things, but I'm fairly certain that one is a first Dunc! (Do you wear mirror shades by any chance?) It sounds good coming from you, tho! Can I call you "pp" (short for porch puppy?) wicked grins and hugs...

and thanks to all, I love dandelions, they pop up in the most impossible places, enticing us all with the prospect of wishes granted...(which was kind of the point of me poem) smile. I know. I'm weird.

Love you all.

and a gentle to the very gentle Logan too.

You had me from the title... my family calls them "wish flowers"... and I can no more pass one by than let a star fall without an ooh, an ahh... and a wish. *S* Excellent write!

(smiles) Yay! Oh Karen, this is absolutely beautifully pastoral, sweet friend, you are a true maestro and painter of words and you make everything seem impressionable! (kiss on cheek) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Karen, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!
