beyond the doors of perception

Growing up on the streets, one does what one must to get by.  It ain't pretty, but it does give one perspective as one gets older.  Life was tough, now it's just life.  No judgement is the best way for me to view life, both yours and mine.  Peace

"I lived this way..." I said to stunned silence
Speaking of lust and leisure and violence
Walking disparaging avenues
desperately wandering without any use
Gettin' what I can
from a man...
or a kid, a woman, or your business
Making my point, lacking uneasiness
Instant gratification being never soon enough
cuz' for the tough, the daily quest is rough
Concealing grief in temporal pleasures
unconcerned that the Universe takes its' measure
Intimate, sensual, sexual, what's the difference
The cost is what matters, is always the inference
The measure of pain, by this child dispensed
being directly proportional to that experienced
Innocent of nothing, yet guilty of the same
a victim, but not a casualty, in the main
Skills are general from this perspective
practical survival being the objective
If I survive, I've gotta' whole lot going
Though I'll never forget what all has been done

I sincerely hope that we get to "hear" the rest of the stories...

I believe you have a fan.
