ulysses

should I dig out the absence of you
swell you into stacked-up days
spit up May from my mouth
wrapped in my voice

then cast it far across the waves

would you stand still

to the movement of my brown eyes
and the flash of my hair
over you?

I’ll stir the flow of you

butterfly

keep you here upon my brow
“bare bodied and swum through”
with me

in this blur of life

fate is not just
whose cooking  smells good
but which way the wind blows

(Ani DiFranco)

Well girl, this snapped me back a few hundred eons or so into a time of golden fleece and adventurous men that never knew how good they had it on their own home shores...

Well done!

Kaoru, glad you liked and thank YOU for the amazing.

angelblueyes, indeed it was and thank you for stopping by and your lovely reply.

Ms Blues... thank you.....glad to not have disppointed you.

Sunshinygirl, so glad you enjoyed this but I must tell you Ulysses is actually a type of butterfly/butterflies I'm referring to and this isn't actually about a "butterfly" so to speak. Sheesh do I sound confused? Anyway I can see how my poem lead to your thoughts...thank you for the links and

Seymour, thank you.....glad you enjoyed

you know...I'm not sure how anyone could stand still... I think you would probably disconcert even the jaded if they saw the movement of your brown eyes...

This is beautiful...simply beautiful. Every word charged with so much feeling...nothing else to say, nothing else appropriate, just that one word.

(smiles) Wow, I also felt some similarities to the epic Ulysses reading this, sweet friend, a story of another flood similar to Noah's Ark! (kiss on cheek) You truly are a butterfly with fins, sweet friend, I love this, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Maree, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
