beyond the doors of perception

I had the best woman in the world, then I had to make her go away.  I miss her momentarily.

In my sleeping I felt your presence
though your image fades into the effervescence
I can meet you in the sleeping silence
though this missing feels so timeless

I never wanted to stop loving you,
I thought, “I’m stupid, not a fool”
Always being ... faithful to none
Only wanting you, now that it’s done

Pondering those moments past and near
does naught but many times bring a tear
of moments past, none lost to the years
they were not wasted, though left in tears

Oh, to hear those words of affection
so warmly spoken in my direction
without a hint of false inflection
Never knowing deceit or rejection

You, beloved, are so terribly missed
this aching feeling will not desist
To once again by your side exist
calls for grace abounding to resist

Know well this, you are keenly missed
In all my doings your thought persists
Comings and goings, in all that exists
even... when by my grandkids I’m kissed

I pray you Love, and Peace aboundin’
In all you do, Happiness is found in
A song of Joy in your heart asoundin’
Warmth and safety, for you surroundin’

Love always, Joe

Joe,

This was so sad yet beautiful. Remember something though...it is better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all. Those are words I truly believe in. This was beautifully written.
Take care.

Is this a common genetic trait in men?
Someone needs to wake them up! shake them or something.

Why do they always treat the one person they love the most so badly?

Then after it is over, regret it?

Where is the logic? but love isn't logical!

Enjoyed your true feelings, thanks for sharing them!

I didn't mean to come across so cross, excuse my feelings, I have just had a bad day, for two days!

Dealing with my own loss at the moment.
My feelings are not directed at you!

It was a beautiful heart felt poem!!!!!

I can speak only for myself, I drove my love away out of blind fear and foolish pride.  Thinking I needed no one, then my two year old daughter taught me the greatest lesson in my life and I determined to reclaim my love. Wish me luck!

This poem is...at the risk of sounding cliche' it's awsome.  I very much enjoyed and relate to this one.  Thank you for sharing it.

susan  thank you for each and every kind word

arheart  with that kind of talk you can vent on my string anytime.  thank you

joe  I am truly glad you liked it, and could relate.  In times past much of problem solving was done in council/counsel with the elders.  we each have something to offer other men. write you experience - let it be your muse
