My eyes are her eyes
Hair her hair
Large breasts
Tiny wrists and ankles
Those came from her too.
My big brown eyes stand
out from my baby face
With skin as soft
As roses peddles
these are her’s also.
I imagine that one day
Her diabetes
Will be mine
And the heart that
Wears out before our
Time is really through
Yes
I imagine that will
Be mine too
As it is passed
down from
Generation to generation.
We are strong
Norwegian women
The backbone
Of all that is ours
Our strength is intimidating
Our passion is true
We cry our tears alone
And our love is forever
Even if you run away.
I watch her every day
Now
Every movement
uneasy
Every breath a
struggle
Passions unfulfilled
Journeys never taken
Suppressed by her
Generation
Until it’s too late for
Her time is running out
And I wonder
how it is that I’ve
loved who I wanted to love
(married or not)
Gone where I wanted to go
Seen what I wanted to see
When my genetics has been
Not to live this way.
Yet
Every Monday she
struggles to make tea
With a small lunch
Then the doorbell rings
And I let him in.
For 50 years he has loved her
Race and society
Keeping them apart
Now they talk and laugh
Hold hands and kiss.
She is a widow now
He is married
But not to her
More together now
but still apart.
I watch them for outside
there momentary world
And I think to myself:
I really have to keep
trying
With a passion
To break our DNA.

(big hugggsssssss) Though I find it is important to believe in your heritage, I also think it shouldn't suppress one's entire life, sweet friend, we are all special and I too feel compelled to contort the DNA at least to show I am not going to become a clone of my ancestors! (sigh) You sure speak of this thought well, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Annie, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Thank you all for such wonderful comments.
How great of you to stop by!  This one came
very easy for me, I love my Mom very much
and am returning the love she gave to me all
through my life by helping her through the last
part of her life.  Thank you again it means a lot
to me.  Love & Hugs

Tough to watch ourselves becoming what we have inherited, when it is not good news.
Would I feel better if I didn't know?
Maybe so.

Enjoyed the love written into this.
