For a second,
just a split second,
the door was opened.
Your hand reached in,
grasping mine. Your heart
pulsed to the beat of time.
Opportunity
to love,
the quest of promise
lay in a breath
between words.
One breath, one
word nestled
between two hearts,
two souls. A gentle Goliath,
your heart was as big
as your passion,
your courage as strong as
a warrior's courage.
The battle began to keep
the door open. You were
willing to wage war
to capture the swelling tide
of this lady's love.
