My heart is crumbling
My eyes full of pain
Tears sliding down my cheeks in frustration
As nobody hears
I’m crying in the dark
Reaching for a light
Watching as everyone moves by me
Looking past me not at me
I’m stationary in a crowd of moving people
Feeling like a statue with feelings
On the outside I am hard
My features crumbling on the surface
Holding on to something that is no longer there
All I can do as a statue is stare at the people moving by me
Smiles on their faces
They know how to be happy
They have so many people who care
And I am out of sight
Like an invisible moon
On a clear night
I am the statue
That is full of pain and sorrow on the inside
But on the outside I am hard
Shielding myself from people who try to see what I’m feeling
