Emptying the Backyard and Filling the Space

I am talking to myself in code
using primary colors and a stick
I say something too sad to name
all curled up in the grass
way back way
back at the bottom of the garden
where I safety caught

And when I closed my eyes
I could hear the things
that patterned the space around me
as if I lay in the middle of some ancient dirt
and it moved though my skin and was still
nodding yes as I eased out my hurt
moving slowly without feet or impression
courageous with fear

Waiting for a sign from another place
listening to the slow drawing of a spiders lace
feeling all the particles hitting me like pins
I was weeping for the loss
of something deep within
filling   filling then cast away

To touch a part of me I felt along a rock
(I was sure there would be nothing left)
buried in the soft dirt the skunk made
looking for something too
to nourish the long bones and shine
the impossible hunger
oh it eats me this need to fill
curled on the path with my eyes shut

fill with what?

(big hugggssssssss) Oh Martie, this so deeply touched my heart and reminded me of my cousin Teia, sweet friend, sadly she was abused when she was 11 years old and she used to always come and play in my backyard, and she has been depressed ever since and just seeing that Raggedy Ann doll she left in my sandbox makes me feel empty too! (wipes tears) I send angel comfort hugs your way hoping you can fill that space, maybe you can plant more flowers over it, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Martie, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

how about with a mothy hug and awe of the depth of expression in this wonderous, ponderous piece of you displayed in poetry.

You are asking questions which are directed within; the answers must then also come from within.

The act of asking defines your place on the path; remember the Earth is patient.

The world is forever transforming

Our dust, constantly shifting with the tides of time
Our powdered past, ever blowing freely,
into the gusting winds of change...

During our preciously brief stay...
One can feel it is of little consequence
and simply, take up this space
Or, they can savor those moments, and marvel
in it’s basking glow...

Martie, thank you for always filling the void,
with sensitivity, and grace...

When a question comes from the spirit, the quiet core of you, it is itself the echo of its own answer...the answer that will be there, clear and vibrant, in its own time.

Have peace until then and know that you know already.

Oh my, Martie...you know I'm feeling this one.
As always, you've penned it so beautifully.

Bulbs.... so that color and fragrance will fill your life. *S*

Or maybe not. *S* Because I think joy will fill those spaces long before bulbs could blossom. *S* Beautiful write!

Within that dirt
I spied a glimmer
sand and silt
sinking
sinking
down
down
down
deep dark dank
whole of self
I tried to look away
I did
but it called to me, closer
Creeping
as a child in the night
unaware of the world
far away from my closet
where my fears reside
I knelt closer
peering inside
wide-eyed wonderment abound
within this crevice
a slice of myself
a mirror lie
silver handled
Victorian, cracked in places
just the right places
and I turned away
only for a second
to turn back
with new eyes
Looking down
this time
I saw not dirt
but myself
and within this whole
on this day

I witnessed beauty

Martie, *smile*
Bless You . . .

One word: awesome.....two words: Love It
*
"moving slowly without feet or impression
courageous with fear"
*
This is truly a poem of bravery, remember to be brave or courageous is not the lack of fear....that is just stupidity, but it is the ability  for one to be able to function and go on under great duress that marks true courage....You have proved that you are enabled with this gift..The void will fill on its own accord, you will have to wait to see "with what"...excellent poetry, as always........ice

Martie,
I can add nothing to what's been said above. Only that I can surely feel the "hollow" here.
