Never Having Imagined

Putting on a brave face
I pretend all will be fine
It hurts when I realised
For me, you had no time

Apologising to fool me
When the fading began
Knowing I believed you
Was that part of the plan

I was hoping to hang on
What would be the use
It would only hurt more
As I read another excuse

Misleading me this way
Fooled too blind to see
I was the gullible victim
Hurt by the painful reality

With niggling uncertainty
A little more of me dies
Never having imagined
A friend would tell me lies

don't let too many pieces of you die, lady

you're much too lively for a death of that sort

yes lies do try to destroy,, however it's my belief that the one lieing loses,, and that we who know the truth will be set free,,

Dear Hope, you still hurt ... the words are powerfully witnessing this.
It's tough, but I wish you to overcome the hurt and look ahead.
Love and hugs. Margherita
