Saluting with misty eyes

Spanish Harlem was going to be
The place I would find my life
The words just seemed
So beautiful
Yet, now I have seen
It is an illusion
As are rose trees in the City
At least until you find
The ways to make them
And your dreams as well
And yet those lights
Neon bright and colored
Flashing on a Broadway night
And it is there
I shall sing those songs
Once the tunes are given free
And yet still
I thank Him for all
People and places I have found
I shall join them
In their morning prayers
To the midnight sun
For in their world
They see not the sky
And know not
Each to a one
If their world
Is in darkness or in light

Ok, Ok... maybe Imagine is my favorite, however I was watching Almost Famous again tonight, and this song stuck with me.

We are all equal but we’re individually different
and able to reach the impossible if we try.

" . . .Sons of bankers, sons of lawyers
Turn around and say good morning to the night
For unless they see the sky
But they can't and that is why
They know not if it's dark outside or light . . ."

Ahh nice job, I ADORE that tune and the movie
*smile*

(smiles) Oh Bradly, this time I couldn't find some posters or pictures of the songwriters of this catchy tune (LOL!) but I have seen Almost Famous and Kate Hudson is great in that, sweet friend, hey, I'm going to see School of Rock this weekend, Jack Black is the man, yee-haw, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ringo, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

beautifully vivid.  thank you, though I'm not a tv fan so the reference eludes me.  and though I appreciate the reference to city nights, having lived the The City, San Francisco, it does remind me of why I live in the big MT

Passing shadows- Thanks. It is a great song, isn't it??

Susan- you forgot to add the words "better than Ringo" to your humming!! lol
Thank you for reading this.

Noah- NO PICTURES???? I'm insulted!!!! lol Just kidding.
You are too kind. Thanks.
And I plan on taking my son to see School of Rock this weekend.

Joe. The song Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters was written by Elton John and was used in the movie "Almost Famous" a couple of years ago. It is one in almost every musician's library.
Thanks for the kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
