How many times
how many
to

reach

touch the
warmth

find
recurved
memory
that folds
upon itself
and fades

How many times
kiss the
air

before the
lesson
unlearned

becomes
unneeded?

How many hopes can dance on the head of a pin?

Beautiful imagery!  Thank you for sharing it.

I like this very much, my friend... As others said before me... your few words invite thoughts that speak volumes. *S* Excellent work!

How many times
I have raced the wind,

Memories,
like rocks in my pockets,

Dreams,
like greyhounds before me.

Ed...I try to reflect on my lessons, try to look for the reasons things happen.  Unfortunately, I find myself circling the same mountain at time.  Unneeded lessons...hmmm, I don't know, my friend...I just don't know.

This is wonderful writing, not soon forgotten.

ED~

Some lessons need to slap me in the face before I get it and it is no longer needed...

Very nicely said!

It can be much easier than all that.....

Sometimes you don't need to learn the lesson anymore, because the circumstance that made it necessary has gone away.....
