Changing Tomorrow’s Perspective

I donned gray slacks
and a black top today, with
black shoes, and looked simple
in the sunlight, which was promised;
a pleasant character, I had hoped, as the trees
fluttered with winds from
the south

and then headed with expectancy
into my day.

I am always expectant,
I never know what might be around
that corner, so I have a smile
in the ready
and a wariness that most don’t see
behind my eye

just in case.

But the day one-eighty’ed me,
cool temps got cooler,
and gray ripples fish-boned across the skies
by noon, those south winds were
pushing in moisture, even though
radar showed clear skies…

sometimes we have to rely
on what we see.

I could feel the tense of knowing
fall will be short
just as summer was overly hot
and winter, perhaps, may almost become
unbearably long;
my day became gray, like my clothes,
and night began to edge the black in
early.

Tomorrow’s forecast?  More of tonight.
Tomorrow’s perspective?

I’ll wear red.

Now Sunshine....I have the feeling you could NEVER be simple in the
sunlight..   You sparkle wherever you go!   This poem sparkles too...
one of the best I have seen from you.   Congrats!     Larry

There ya go!
Tomorrow you will be known as 'the lady in red.'
But always with that ready smile...
making the sun shine brightly on all of us here at Passions.
Love ya lady!

This is lovely, you blend greys and blacks and reds all together and get somethings else.

in other words- ahhh...can't think of them

And the angel said unto me, "These are the cries of the carrots, the cries of the carrots!"

today was kissed
by cooling mist
as old man sun
was on the run
left behind
for all to find,
an autumn day,
while somewhat grey,
it could be worse,
as is this verse,
just remember
come late December,
when ice and snow
and north wind's blow,
descend on Salina
you'll want to whine a
bit and wish the fall,
returned for all.

sorry, just had to see if I could get a rhyme for Salina other than myna
or one other one that because I am a Kansas farmboy I cannot say in mixed company...

P.S. enjoyed the poem

the seasons keep changing like our wardrobes, but even in that, life is not so predictable
