A Tear That Was Not Mine
~*Marge Tindal*~

I have known the sorrow
of tear that was not mine
Felt it slip from eye of friend
from a heart of not-yet-mend~

Watched it surge in tearful purge
bringing sobs with no relief
Wondered whatever could I do
to unburden friend of such grief~

Realized in silent attend
I could hold the tear of friend
Caress it with such gentle care
until the need of fall was bared~

Tenderly ... I wrap my thoughts
around the shoulders of sisterly pine
Knowing that in hold of friend
the tear has now become mine~

~Sometimes there are no words~
Gentle hugs for Muys in the loss of her sister
September 2003

the spirit rejoices over what it has left.

Beautiful, compassionate, touching write, dear Marge. Tears dry easier when they are shared.

Marge, my dearest friend, I know Muys will be very grateful for your thoughtfulness.

I'll print it out and will give it to her tomorrow when we drive down there.

Understanding...that is what each of us wants...  Beautiful, not only the poem, but the poet's heart.

Marge, this is so gentle, and well-expressed. There is no consolation for loss, but time and the caring of friends. Like you.
