Shopping For Decorations

A man could perish
in a shop like this,
never emerge

the aisles sized
for women only
too many odd things
hanging eyebrow high
and walls decked with
wicker and wikka,
corners strung up
like dreamcatchers
with candlesmell
and the pagan
reek of brass

the clerk slips past,
arms folded across
a load of ornaments
and doll patterns,
her blouse buttoned
low in the heat,
and the scent of her
almost too sudden
as she looks back
with a knowing, and

turning to stack
her things, says
“If you need anything,
just let me know”

wondering all the
way home

....wondering all the way home!

Perfect conclusion to this lovely "report" of shopping.

Very enjoyable and well done!

I love shopping. The scent of perfume, the textures of materials of every kind. The glitter, the music. Only thing I don't like is the mall that is packed with people toe to toe unable to move. Sooo.........
I home shop with the uninspiring TV.
There are times I wish there was a downtown filled the fragrances of yesterday.
Good write and was that little critic with a sock on his head a sittin' on your shoulder when you wrote this one?

Oh boy, RL you have captured the way I feel and what I think, when I make my yearly pilgrimage to the mall at Christmas time...

(big hugggssssssss) Shopping season can always be so difficult sometimes, yet it is an adventure and I love to just sit back and enjoy the ride! (sigh) Sometimes going down those aisles can truly be fun, sweet friend, just have to be vigilant, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ed, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Ed- This is an instant classic!!! Thank you for describing the shopping scene so that women might understand.

ROFL... I love this! *S* But you'd have been in for a whack upside the head if you'd done more than wonder... and write. *G*

This is classic, my friend. *S*
