In The Crook Of Rain

Puddles consort on the whitewashed sidewalks
Falling drops, like pearls in break away from strands
A melody sent to soothe the earth, a lullaby
Pattering the window frame, tapping…tapping

Dimming lights, and blowing flames to snuff
These heavy lids, against the white tight necks
Of long and longer days

A happy sleep, where hushed contradictions
Slip beneath the sheets of misty dreams

Rocking to sleep the parched and paper flowers
Shimmering the wee of hours spent and done
Gone and soaked into the pours of thirsty souls
Tapping…tapping

Soft upon the night lace that fringes gentle breaths
Spirits truly, not earthbound but speckled in
Their play upon the captivated end of day

Can I get this kind of rest over the counter?

I enjoyed the write TD

Oh, the pictures this write brings to mind. Very artfully done, and very much enjoyed!
