In Any Park, On Any Day

Brown grist lines the path.
Futilely blasting the weeds,
they've killed the flowers.
Is there so much gain
in the loss of a few weeds,
that beauty must die with them?

I do it the hard way --
pulling weeds and
saving the flowers!

Now, a whole park, might change my method!

Great write with a point to ponder!

'Tiz feathers that make the bird -
Always remember to keep them fluffed
but, never, EVER ruffle them!

Jamie...I have seen this so many times...seems a gentler hand and keen eye may be needed in special places.  But when a body is tired, it sweeps away anything, not seeing a thing of beauty.

man's way is to dominate, desecrate, descimate.  "They paved paradise, and put up a parking lot," Joni Mitchell.  Good write.  Peace, Joe

Nice little poem that, James.  Reminds me of the time I squirted bug killer
on about 14 tomatoe plants...and it was broadleaf weed killer.  Sad results.

(big hugggsssssss) Oh James, this is so ery heartaching but true, sweet friend, aren't weeds also part of Mother Nature's womb? Supposedly despite some of them looking not all so pretty, it wouldn't hurt to have a few spared for the sake of others! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, this is very touching, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet James, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Shouldn't be... but 'tis... beauty sacrificed so that nuisance can be annihilated. *S*

On the other hand... my dad doesn't weed... and the weeds choke out the beauty anyway. *S*

I like this very much!

Choka is a wonderful and encompassing work of poetic artistry where not only one poet stands alone in the art...it is a combination of several artists adding on to a string of thought...in haiku, tanka or senryu form...

in that, I bring you this...

Better that one bends
To bear the stinging of thorns
Grasping at nettles
Letting loose the nasturtiums
Bringing azaleas to bloom
