Heavenly creature of the night
Radiant beauty given form
I feel your presence all around me
And within those emerald pools
I become lost in your gentle soul
Feeling the world slowly melt away
Leaving only those enchanting eyes
And your heart so loving and true
How can it be possible that this lowly poet
Could find such beauty so rare
In this dark and harsh reality
I try so hard to bring to life
Words that could truly capture
This angel I see before me
But alas, no words will come
I can only stand in awe of you
Then you smile that gentle smile
melting my heart in an instant
Everything dark and cold slowly fades away
Feeling only your loving presence
I long to stay in this place
To know your gentle touch, your tender kiss
And feel your light for all time
Oh precious angel, am I worthy
Of the wonders within you
please let me stay in this moment
lost in your radiant beauty
oh my precious angel
please let me stay

I really liked this poem. It had little bit of a gothic vibe for me.

Certainly gives me goosebumps. Even though my special someone doesn't return my feelings, and it hurts, I still appreciate her beauty, both internal and external. Great poem about your "Lili Marlene."
