He looked at another
With love in his eyes
He held someone near
He told her his lies

When the lovers stopped loving
When they started to hate
When the bough finally broke
It was already too late

He beamed at another
He glared down at me
He gave her a promise
Said we never would be

When the blood had stopped dripping
And the scabs pealed to scars
When the bough finally broke
She grieved from afar

He swore to another
Everything he could give
He gave her his future
For as long as they lived

When the pain had stopped dripping
And the words had simply ceased
When the bough finally broke
Her soul was not released

When he claimed her heart
And stared in her eyes
When he held her close
He embedded his lies

When the love had finished
And the sweet became tart
When the bough finally broke
It shattered her heart.

Always look forward, never look back, dreams are much more refreshing than regrets.

No problem....we will take on the task of
giving comments... I enjoyed the poem,  the
feel of it was evident, powerfully evident
throughout.  And I hope it wasn't you....
and that the bough landed on HIS head!!!

(big hugggssssssss) Oh Angie, this is so very heartaching, sweet friend, I sure hope the bough has crashed upon him by now and hurt more than the magnitude of all the victims who feel prey to his lying eyes! (sad sigh) I send angel healing hugs your way, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Angie, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

The bough did fall on me, unfortunately.  I learned my first lesson in love and it was to fear it...Now I am moving on, or thought I was, until I saw him today, I didn't have that normal "heart flutter"...I was with my new boyfriend, but i had such a strange range of emotions I didn't even talk.

Always look forward, never look back, dreams are much more refreshing than regrets.
