“It is hot here,
and I thirst for water.”

Parched grains seem to drift
Across even the eyelids of sleep
And deny the dream
Someday there is water for all.

I have heard the prayers for rain
To fall on these lands
And spring forth new life
From what was a desert
Of man.

It is cool inside the mosques
And quiet in the temples
When no one is there
To harangue

Do you look down on this
And wonder at the cruelty
Of your creation?

Or rest yourself in those times
When your house is bare
Trying to sleep your own dream
And find the courage one more time
To care?

I would grow olives here
And feed myself,
Offer then to my neighbor
A handful, that they too might taste
The fruit of my trees

But it seems the machines of steel
Take my roots
And my well is filled with
This ugly dirt

So I thirst oh lord…
And cry for Allah’s will
Be joined with Jehovah’s
That I might farm
And it might rain

are you listening?

Or am I too Still?

Awesome!
Kethry

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

Sunshine.. you're welcome..lol.. but it is futile and only offers a false hope or false sense that I spoke out... it is all more an excersize in chasing my own guilt demons than it is anything to thank me for.

I'm as apathetic as the majority.... and salve my own mind and heart with a few such offerings so I can say to myself...and decieve..I took a stand...

cynicism is me today, I fear... and I find my tolerance for man to be very limited, and my understanding of God..or my acceptance of God to be even more so.

Kethry... your words too kind and undeserved.. but thank you

CPat~
We all come to the well in thirst ... often lacking the knowledge of that which will quench us~

'I have heard the prayers for rain
To fall on these lands
And spring forth new life
From what was a desert
Of man.'

This quote from your piece is very moving to this reader~

I believe this is the most moving dream for everyone to behold and hold onto, never letting go.  Cap, there are many who feel your emotions....wear your questions, even model your soul...and it is the greatest dream one can aspire...

The search for truth, is knowledge.

Thank you again, for an awe inspiring write.

Lee... the search for truth is a quixotic quest that assumes there is 'truth' and that it exists as an absolute. I have been unable to subscribe to the idea that 'truth' exists except as a relative term used to define how well we can assimilate the factors or offerings we encounter and make them relevent to our own experiences and desires.

I would offer no excuses for my own understanding of things or presume the efforts to make some sort of sense out of not only the world but those things not in this world on my part were anything but foolish.

you are thoughtful... and intellegent... and seem to have faith..

perhaps faith is the part I am missing...

This shows what many of us look for and sometimes never find the answer too.An indepth look into a great subject that all can relate too.

Lee.. thank you..but I am very challenged when it comes to using the phone... I always forget what it was I was going to say..and since I have trouble hearing..often fail to absorb the words of others when I am distracted..

Crystal... thank you.

(big hugggssssssss) Oh Ron, I believe our ears just aren't keen enough to receive or our eyes too keen to register these things, sweet friend, but somehow we just have to take to heart all is being taken in order! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ron, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
