The changing of the leaves signals everywhere fall can be seen
As my eyes are greeted with the loveliest shades of red, orange, yellow, and green
Around this time of year though, I often feel a little blue
For it's the time I think the most about you

I miss you Mom, more than any words can say
Though I continue to heal, I still miss you everyday
The breeze is beginning to get cooler now, I feel it softly against my face
Remembering all the times we shared, I just let the tears mark their trace

I wish I was near the ocean in this moment, the place you loved so much
Maybe if the sand was soft beneath my feet, I'd again feel your loving touch
I still wonder why you had to go, why when we all still needed you to stay
Suppose it was your time to go, and that's why you went away

Yes, fall is on it's way, but sadly you are not around
It's in the changing of the seasons, that all our love and memories can be found
I will miss you mom, today and tomorrow too
As I glance around at the beautiful leaves, it's this awesome beauty that reminds me of you.

"love is like a butterfly--
if you chase it,
it will surely fly away,instead
hold it close and watch it grow into
something beautiful"

beautifully expressed.

Amy, I know it doesn't help, but she is with you in spirit and heart.

Thank you all for your wonderful replies. I wanted to take a moment to clear up some confusion that I think some of you are having. I write about two different Mothers here online. The first is my "adopted" Mom but really the only Mom to me. She is the one that passed away when I was 17 and the one I write of in this poem. The other mother I write about is my biological mother, who I've not seen since I was six years old. She is the one I write about from time to time expressing my want to continue having contact with her (I contacted her about a month ago). I hope this clears this up for some of you. Again thank you all for your geninine warm replies. It means so much to me
Take care.
Amy
